In 2017, Countryside, one of the UK’s leading home builders specialising in placemaking and regeneration, was selected by Bromley Council as their development partner to bring forward the first part of Opportunity Site G, referred to as Churchill Quarter.

The site

Opportunity Site G was identified in the adopted Bromley Town Centre Area Action Plan and is included in the London Borough of Bromley’s draft Local Plan.

As part of the wider Area Action Plan, the proposals will deliver:
- A new plaza and the creation of Churchill Square
- New homes, including affordable homes
- High quality retail and commercial space
- Flexible community space to accommodate Bromley Town Vision Church.

Churchill Quarter is the first site to come forward in the masterplan area and will be the catalyst for the wider regeneration of Bromley Town Centre.

Our vision for Churchill Quarter is to deliver a high quality, mixed-use development at the heart
of Bromley Town Centre. Driven by design quality and sustainability, the proposals for Churchill Quarter aim to celebrate and enhance the cultural activity around the Theatre and Library.

We believe the proposals will improve links to the Church House Gardens by opening up the site to
deliver enhanced public realm alongside increased open space.

Next steps
Following more than 40 hours of consultation with residents, local groups and stakeholders who have provided their feedback, we have now submitted a planning application for Churchill Quarter, a high quality, mixed-use development at the heart of Bromley Town Centre. The submission of the plans marks the culmination of over a year’s work by Countryside and its project team, in partnership with Bromley Council. The plans have evolved significantly following two stages of public consultation in July and November 2017. The application has now been registered and the Council will be carrying out its own statutory consultation with the local community. You can view the full planning application on Bromley Council’s Planning Portal using planning reference 18/02181/FULL1.
